Based on the 1933 classic Busby Berkeley musical film by the same name, 42nd Street tells the tale of an aspiring actress and her hopes of making it big on Broadway. The young girl’s turbulent, yet sudden rise to fame, is marked one fateful opening night by the director’s legendary words of caution, “you’re going out there a youngster, but you’ve got to come back a star!”
